IMO, on a street car, slots, holes, and dimples are just a cosmetic thing. If anything they instigate rotor cracks and excessive pad wear.
If you want reliability get high end rotors made with quality cast iron of consistent density (no hard or soft spots) and proper heat treatment. Look into high end products from sources such as Raybestos, Aimco, Centric, etc.. The cheap stuff has a habit of warping if used hard.

also, Brembo solid is an excellant rotor for F-bodies!, Ive had great performance and good life from them...
Craby, I've read some people have had some squeaking issues with the powerstop and they claim its because its they have a non-directional surface. Is this true or doesn't it really matter?
If I don't go with the Powerstop rotors, I am definitely leaning towards the Napa Ultra Premiums.

And for giving a review for 2 brands that people are looking at.
Also, thank for for posting an affordable alternative. Glad I did a little extra searching and found this thread.
I just wanted to give my review. Got my new drilled/slotted PowerStop Rotors and Ceramic Pads in on my '95 Z and feel they are absolutely worth the money and definitely an upgrade. I appear to have much better bite when breaking and they also got rid of the vibrations I was previously feel caused by warped rotors. Moreover, due to their Zinc coating, my PowerStop rotors still look new. Definitely will go with them next time too.

You do realize that you're going to notice a night and day difference with any kind of new pads and rotors, over old worn out and glazed brakes. As long as you like them and feel you got a value, that's what counts.

Well, still waiting on the stealership to fix the AC, but brakes will follow suit. I've decided that I'm going to let the interior bits wait and focus on some performance issues I'd like to take care of. With the aforementioned mortgage, I will likely have to make due with saving about $150-200 a month for each part that I want.
