do you have any experience with doing a trans swap? it can be difficult to do. do you have the right tools/shop? what condition is your stock tranny in? how many miles, etc. daily driver? also, how many miles on the t56.

Someone told me the clutch in the 6 speeds can't take the torque for too long, especially if you miss a gear. So I'd be better off with an automatic. I actually listened to him and went with an automatic.
ATM, had to make a choice between a 6 speed LS1 and a automatic LT1. Going with the LT1 saved me 1500 bucks, but gave me a whole lotta trouble.

Good luck on the swap, honestly if you don't even know where to start this may not be a project you want to take on (unless you have a good amount of time). Make sure you have a tranny jack so you don't drop the transmission and crush yourself. Other than that, good luck on finding all the parts etc. I would start by pulling the auto
