Default Alternator Recommendations???

I want to get an aftermarket alternator because I want my ride to be ready for any electrical mods that may be forthcoming (I'll probably be adding 2 1,000 watt monoblock amps if not more, with a cap for each amp, and possibly HID conversions). Can anybody recommend one for me??? I'd like to keep it under $200.

Your car comes with a 130 AMP alternator. For what you intend to do, you need twice as much. As far as I know there is nothing available of that power that would bolt in in place of the stock alternator. May want to take a look at the polica car application, but I don't think the are even close. You can always get a little trailer and drive around with a 6 KWH Honda generator to power your system. LOL

Haha, yeah I could do that. Okay, maybe I ought to think about a second battery then... I'll just buy the cool GM alternator with the bowtie on it.

H.I.D.s actually use less power. What size do you need? I got a couple. If it's the

H4351
H4351
sized bulbs for Camaros from 93-97, they don't have any conversion kits out YET.

But if you need 9005 and 9006 conversion kits,I can get them for you for $220 shipped. I have a bunch of those in temps from 5000K-1200K
PM if you are interested.

I got a 200 amp alternator for my S10. I'm running two 1200 watt amps with caps. I am also using H.I.D.s. I am sorry to inform you that high amp alternators aren't cheap.
