All day today, my car's alarm has been acting very strange. Anytime I lock the car, with either the door or my key fob, seconds later the alarm sounds. It does this almost every time, and it makes me afraid to walk away from my car, fearing this might happen again. All the doors and the trunk are completely closed every time. What is causing this?

car has been driven through rain in the previous few days
the battery is fairly old, but has never died on me

any help is appreciated

 

My friend's does the same thing, did you ever figure out what the problem was ?

 

turned out to be the battery, I replaced it with a new ACDELCO unit and it hasn't happened since.

 

man, my car start to do the same thing this morning!! I thought someone was messing with me at work.

I'm gonna check the battery tomorrow.
