Air Pump Question
Today when I was putting the MAF on, I notcied that the inlet on the CAI, was missing the rubber hose feeding from the air pump. I guess I forgot to put it on when I put the CAI on, or it slipped off. I put it back on...I need to put a clamp on it.
So after finishing up with everything, I started thinking...and the radiator shop brought up a good point:
The air pump and the air lines are still on the car. I didn't remove them. Is it bad to leave the pipes open ? The pipes I'm talking about are the ones that make a U shape from up top all the way down to the oil pan and route to the air pump.
I guess I need to take them off, but if I take the air pump and lines off, how will I plug the hole on the CAI.
I remember Whammer telling me he took his air pump off, but I also heard if you take the air pump off the ECU will not like it.
I just don't want any debris to get into those pipes and then get pushed by the air pump into the intake.

you do not want a open inlet after the air filter, any debris or dust/sand can get to the motor. leaving it or not is not going to make any difference that you will notice.
