The 93 still used R12. However; you can save a lot of money by using R12 substitutes such as Freeze12, which costs about the same as R134a, and does not require any modifications or oil change to the AC system.

are you 100% sure? cuz i put a bottle of 134a in it. helped a lil. i thought i needed more cuz it finish a 8oz bottle

i have a 1993 z28 i put r134 in mines an it worked fine.

All 4th gen cars had r134 A/C systems.

I think you may be wrong. If I remember right the R134a was not standard in cars until 95-96. Besides the R12 is way colder!!

Should be easy to figure out. If you had a recharge kit for 134a, it wouldn't fit on an R12 system. The schrader valves are different sizes between the two so that one can't be accidentally put into the other. There also should be a sticker somewhere under the hood indicating which one the car has.

Mine says what it takes under the hood on the sticker by the accessory belt pattern. I have a '94 z28 and it takes R134A
