Default 97 or 98

I`v been looking to buy a camaro for a few months. I live in England so there isn`t a huge choice but I`v seen a 98 for sale and a slightly cheaper 97. I`v read the arguments on here about lt1 vs ls1 but I wanna know have you driven both and would I really notice a difference? I will very rarely if ever rev the car above 5000 rpm where the ls1 seems to produce more power. I like the low end torque like my last car (87 vette) had so maybe I`ll prefer the LT1.

Any thoughts?

even though I have an LT1, I think if it was simply one or the other I'd go with the LS1.

which looks do you like. i think the 93-97 look better and lt1 can be made to go as good as a ls1.

like i said it all depends on a persons point of view if you like the ls looks get the 98 if you like the lt's much better looks get the 97. for me the lt1 is easier to work on.
