94 LT1 Still getting codes
I replaced the seals and assembled everything back together. I started her up before i added coolant to make sure i dont have any codes and low and behold i get a 43 ESC failure. im hoping it justs a bad knock sensor. Im going to go do some voltage testing right now. anything else u think could be causing this code?? when i started her up and gave her gas she didnt miss at all which was a good sign...just that damn retard in timing cause of that code.

im having trouble getting the connector off. Im pushing down on that little button and pulling on it but it doesnt wanna come off. I didnt want to break it so i thought i would see what u think before i pull on it hard. Also the connector could spin freely on the sensor and the white wire leaving the connector looked fine

I also noticed i forgot to plug the the idle speed connector back (right before the throttle body). This shouldnt cause the knock sensor problem i wouldnt think. Also the second time i started the car back up the SES light did not come on, but the car only ran for about 30 seconds

Craby i think my knock sensor was loose just like you, pushed on it and the SES/ code went away. I let the car fun for 20 mins till it got warmed up and also no codes :-) It was running rich though, white smoke out the back and very small droplets of gas were on the ground behind the exhaust. Im thinking its just since the gas has been in that car for well over a year and the plugs needs to be replaed since i only cleaned them the best i could and put them back in (plus an oil change). While it was warming up i gave it gas and it didnt missfire/ struggle to rev up. I took her around the block (with expired plates and no insurance :-) ) and she ran good. when at 50mph it ran good....can tell it needs some new gas and plugs though....i hope thats whats causing the car to run rich like that. anything else it could be?

ill check when i change the oil. I might wait till spring to change the O2's and plugs since i will be winterizing the car in a month. Also what are good O2 sensors to get? ive heard to stay away from bosch.

i had some bosch in mine and tried changing to oextra that i understand to be oem. they look like the old stock ones so im leaning on believing em. made in usa so if nothing else im putin someone to work.
