ive heard good on the compcam 305. i think you may need stronger springs with it.

most horsepower? GM847 or CC306 cam. won't be very driveable but they will deliver the most horsepower.

i've always liked the idea of the cc503 and a lot of guys love that cam. also, advanced induction makes a 226/234 cam which i've heard lots of good things about. lloyd elliotts 223/230 cam is another one i've heard good things about.

are you auto or manual?

auto trans does not like big cams. without the stall converter mine was spinning the wheels while stopped at idle in the gravel. if you set the idle low it wont run or loads up and dies.

i'm not sure what the part number is. i mean the cam will be extremely choked down without opening up the heads, but it will make gobs of horsepower.

you will want a torque converter in your car before you put any sort of decent sized cam in

but if he has an auto tranny then he already has a torque converter.

TIG runs from the room before whammer can toss something at him

I believe whammer meant that you need a higher stall TC and since you are there, you may as well at least replace the servo and flush the tranny (not just drain fluid and filter but a flush)

have a look at elliotts web site http://www.elliottsportworks.com/lt1.html the first three cams you see should be ok in a stock motor. i have the 223/230 with 1.6 roller rockers. you should be ok with new 1.5 roller rockers(same as stock) in a stock motor.
