Default 93 Z28 LT1

I found an LT1 and tranny for 1500 it only has 50k miles on it. I was thinking about picking it up. could i swap it in to my 96Z?

We need more information, this is pretty vague. What year did the transmission come out of, is it an auto or manual, why are you swapping etc.

its an auto. its all out of a 93. my tranny has holes in it. it going to give out any day, and the LT1 was rebuilt 50k miles ago.

If it's an auto out of a 96 it's the 4L60E, you have a 4L60 in your '93 (aka 700R4), so long story short, yes you can put the transmission in (as in it will bolt up), but it won't work correctly because it's going to be looking for an Electronic input to tell it when to shift that you're not going to be able to supply it with without some work.
