Default difference in distributor

if u see my other post u will see my prob i replaced my opispark and i was thinking about it and the original one was not vented and the one i put on is vented is there any difference in the two could that be my prob any help im stuck thankz.

whats the part number for the opti you installed?

Stock vented and unvented Optis are not interchangeable unless some modifications are made. There is a difference in how they are driven. However, it may be possible to get a vented unit that has been built to fit a 93 or 94 Camaro.
Veryfy that the opti you are using is equipped with a splined shaft that fits into the camshaft. Stock vented optis for 95 and newer Camarod are driven by a pin attached to the end of the camshaft, and won't work in your 93 Camaro.
The optis are made to go in properly if indexed correctly, but can be forced in by brute force and won't work properly or can be damaged.

alldata shows the differance and they arent interchangable but ive heard of people making them work. if anyone knows how i can post pics from alldata on here i would be more than happy to show you how they are differant

thanks guys im bought a msd opi so im puting that in hopefully it ends my problems

should be the 8381 opti 1, if so you are good to go.
