Default 4L60E Question

Just got my 4L60E rebuilt in my 1994 Camaro with a 2400 rpm stall and shift kit.

When I nail the gas from about 50 mph, the transmission kicks down into a lower gear, and I'm getting some "tire chirpage." Is this normal with a higher stall and a shift kit, or is the transmission slipping or something, causing the "chirp?"

I guess everything seems to be ok, but I just want to make sure. Also, when I floor the gas, the transmission kicks down, the RPMs raise and the car starts to pull (obviously), but then when the transmission shifts up a gear, I get that "shove" in the back, and the car really takes off. Is it normal for the revs to come up, and then a few moments later the car takes off like a freight train?

Cool. I sure hope so. I guess after 3 rebuilds, one tends to get a bit paranoid. I guess it's because when I floor the gas, the engine "revs up," and then takes off AFTER it revs, and not WHILE it revs.

I kinda missed that part about the downshift. The transmisssion should grab immediately and not let the engine flare up on the downshift. May have a problem with 3-2 control solenoid. Also what fluid are u using?

I have no clue what type of ATF I'm running in it. I'm running whatever the guy that rebuilt it put in the transmission.

I don't wanna say that the transmission is slipping, because when I floor the gas, the transmission kicks down, the rear squats, and accelerates and pulls me to the seat, but it isn't until the transmission shifts back up that the car really "gets it."

It's very difficult to explain what's happening without someone riding in the car so they can experience exactly what I'm talking about.

Are you sure that when you kick it the tires aren't spinning causing the engine to rev,and then it hooks up and starts pulling. Because i have a 93' and at low speeds mine does that.

It very well could be, but it doesn't feel like the tires are breaking loose. I filmed the tach and you can hear the motor, so if I could find a host for the video, it could be viewed, so you guys could see what I'm talking about.

out of curiosity, on average what does it cost to have a stall and shift kit put in your car? I guess i could check it out with shops around here, but this could save some time.
