383/ LT4 Headers
I have a 95 Camaro Z28 with a 383ci, Hooker Long Tube Headers, and LT4 Corvette Racing Heads with an LT4 intake manifold. Recently, I have been blowing header gaskets because i keep hitting the dump under the car, which loosens the bolts on the headers, which causes the header gasket to blow. We replaced the gasket, and got all the screws back into the header except ONE!. This one bolt is the second bolt from the front, and it won't go in because that one particular hole is not lined up correctly with the header, thus the screw wont connect into the header. I am pulling my hair out over here. The car has been sitting in the driveway for two days. I must have spent about 8 hours this weekend changing the gasket, about 2 1/2 hours on that one screw. Does anyone have any ideas or could give me some adivice? I AM GOING CRAZY!

RE: 383/ LT4 Headers
Headers are a preventative maintenance part, if yours are anything like mine you need to check all the bolts periodically (I do it when I change my oil) to make sure they're tight. I would also suggest getting some Mr. Gasket premium Graphoil gaskets, they have a temperature tolerance that is around 1200 degrees because they're primarily made of graphite. That's what I replaced my original gaskets with and I haven't had any issues since.
