Default 383 ?

so im waiting on for a back pay check from work then im going to build a 383 for the z but found this motor on ebay what do you guys think about maybe just buying this over building it? here are the details and link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...Q5fAccessories

Heads- Trick Flow 195CC heads Gen X
Crank – 4340 Nitrided steel 3.750 stroke
Pistons – Keith Black flat tops 10.5 CR Total Seal piston rings
Rod – Scat 4340 steel I-Beam 6.0 w/ 7/16 bolts
Bearings – Rod and Mains ; Clevite 77 ‘H’ bearings Cam – Clevite SH290S
Balancer / Pulley – Pioneer SFI approved steel 6 ¾” diameter
Block – bored, honed, decked w/BHJ fixtures, clearanced, 4 bolt main caps (splayed)
Cam – GM LT4 hot cam
Timing Set – Cloyes .9-3151

that cam is way to small for a 383 and for those heads. and not sure on that crank wat brand is it? building one will most likely cost you that much or more depending on the parts though also if i was building it id bump compression up some and not sure if those keith black pistons r forged but if they rnt i doubt itd hold a 300 shot.

if you want to spray that much nitrous either buy from a reliable place like advance induction or build it yourself so you know what parts are going in it you know its all torqued to spec you know the rings are gapped right and all that.

not a new seller but not well esablished, with that kind of money and no returns i would shy away from it. not a bad deal but could be if you know what i mean.

yeah i'm with rob and craby here. that cam is awfully small for a 383 and i doubt it would make 450 horsepower. and a 250-300 shot is a pretty good shot and i'd want to build my own motor with proven parts so i know what i'm getting and not trusting someone else

yeah i bought mine built but only cuz it was local, and i was able to talk to the shop that did everything and got recipets,,, i wouldnt just buy a motor, built without face to face and proof...

yeah i bought my 396 from a guy who runs camaroz28.com so i'm pretty sure he knew what he was doing, lol
