Default 3.73'? Perks and Cons

Id like to get 3.73's but I want to weigh the good and bad since its my dd. How much do you think it would effect gas mileage while driving casually? Also, given a little wheel spin, how well will the stock rear end hold up?

stock rearend is rated to 350hp. thats not saying you can go out and do clutch drops with 315 tires all day without having an impact on the life of the unit. 323 to 373 i lost 5mpg.

Did anyone else calculate how much mileage they lost, particularly with a set up similar to mine?

Any suggestions on which set I should buy? Im probably only flirting with 300hp and im not going any further for a while so if there is a set that I can get buy that will be good enough for that, it would would be ok.

i lost about 5mpg's too. stock rear end is always the achilles heel of this generation. If you abuse it, it will be the first to go.

Do you think a tune would make the mileage pretty minimal? I have the factory tune now.

I decided I am going to have the gears installed at a shop, not worth the risk and there is local shop that is only going to charge me $200. But im not sure exactly what gear set I need or which install kit. Herronperformance only has one option, is that the right one? But it doesnt look like they sell install kits
