You are absolutely correct. Ohm meter won't fare too well. Besides, can't measure current too well with an Ohm meter. lol

 

Ok, found the problem...the magical drain is the factory installed alarm system. If I use the key remote to lock the car...the battery is drained to low to start the car within 24 hrs. If I use the interior door lock switch to lock the car...car starts fine. Did this for a few days and confirmed.

Battery is new and charges at the battery terminal at 14.1 volts at idle after warm up. Battery is rated at 1000 CA and 800 CCA's.

So for now..I'll just lock the car using the door switch until I can figure out what the issue is with the factory installed alarm system is.

My alarm system has done that once to but I have a garage that locks up and live in the middle of nowhere where someone could spit on the floor and the town would know about it so I just leave my alarm off unless I go to the city

 

Im having the same issue with my 93 Z28 . It literally Ate two brand new batteries ! this problem started since I haven't been driving the car lately . Alternator is fine . As long as the car is run on a daily basis there is no problem , But park it for two days and The battery is drained so bad the auto door locks wont even work . I suspect its the damn Viper alarm system in the car (which was installed before I bought it ) I have no instructions on how to dissarm this thing . Is it as simple as pulling the fuses out of it ? or will the car not start with that done ?
I went to the viper alarm website and they admitted to problems with their older alarm models but didn't offer any help . thinking about removing the alarm all together . Any suggestions ???

 

i suggest remove the alarm send it to me and ill install it and let you know if its the alarm or not
