Default 1995 z dont run, distributor? Maybe

Ok well i have a 1995 z, and i had some work done on it a few years ago,i had a zz9 cam put on, new heads- ported, cold air, exhaust, throttle body, computer programed. Well for the last year or so it hasn't ran worth crap, it back fires, and bogs down and stays in a low rang ofRPMswhen itran, but then it will just stop. i have put 3 distributor on and they all go out, well they willwork about a month or so then it will quit running on me. And all the times it goes out,is when i would get on the gas pretty good, and it always happens in that month rangs of a new distributor. I have heard about the Delteq Distributor, and wonder if thats what i need, or if you guys could tell me if its somethign else. So if anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it. Thank you for you time.

The Delteq retains the timing functions of the Optispark, but does away with the high voltage portion of the Opti, and uses a coil for each plug.

There is no reason for your distributor to go bad so quickly, unless there is water or oil getting into it.

That is very possible, the cam pin has to adjusted according to what year distributor is being used. Too long or too short can do damage. If the pin is the problem, going to Delteq is not going to help.

The pin has to match the length of the one on the stock cam. Aftermarket cams usually come with the long pin and it has to be either tapped back or cut to the right length. If the car uses a vented distributor, it needs the longer pin. I don't know if the 95 uses the vented or unvented distributor.
