Definitely man, thanks a lot for the advice. Dunno enough to figure out what's what but I'll show this the next guy I take it too, he'll prolly have a better idea cause I ain't got a clue lol

The high numbers you hear for mpg tend to be from the M6 cars.

95 Z28 A4 with CAI, lt headers, magnaflow, custom tune, 3.23's and about 15-17 mpg around town. FWIW, the newer S197 mustangs with the 4.6 aren't much better around town.
Did you put the 3.23 on it or is that what's on our cars stock? Cause if I remember correctly the stock number was lower, which means you're getting a lot more than I would if I had the same gears.

I know 15mpg is normal for around town but I never actually gotten 15mpg. I usually get 13.5 - 14.5 mpg depending on how much I want to risk getting stranded in the middle of no where. Only time I got more was around 18 maybe, and that was a 430 mile interstate drive with cruise control on the whole time and a lot of down hills.

Did the custom tune help at all?

3.23's were an option and that is what is in mine. Yes, the custom tune helped because it was running rich and now it runs better than ever, more power and better mpg.

I've been having the same problem I've been checking what everyones been saying to check and still not fixed.

just thought id add that theres another '94z a4 out there with all the same problems . as dumb and simple as it sounds, maybe check for a small leak in your tank or fuel lines?

I don't know what the problem is that you are having. I also have a '94 Z28 with the 4L60E, I get over 20 on the highway. Not a lot of around town driving where I live, so I am not sure what I would be getting in that scenario.

You may want this link that " Libertyforall " posted in "FACs" in the 4th Gen area, for a car parts manual too.
