10yrs after selling my F body, i finally bought another. I have some question's......
Ok lemme start off by saying hello and I'm glad to b a part of the forum. I just spent the last couple hours searching trying to find answers but no go. I just bought a 1995 z28 (auto) 170k. It was running fine and all of a sudden it felt like it wanted to die, it would run only if i kept the rpms high. I know im not being very descriptive but that's pretty much all i know. The check engine light came on and I haven't gottin the codes read. Thank you in advance for ne help. PS i only paid $1000 for the car, and my only goal is to eventually make it a street legal 11-low 12 budget build.
I dont know where to start, My last fbody was a 00 z28 factory freak that ran a 13.1@111 w/ only a slp lid and cutouts. I joined the military and had to sell it.
. o well. i have a new project now and alot of reading to do. Enough rambling, throw out some ideas of what could cause the explined problem please.

The first step is reading codes. Some things that it could potentially be:
Clogged cat, clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pressure regulator, bad fuel pump, gerbils, dieing opti...you get the point. There are many things that it could be, check the codes and let us know what they are, we'll be able to give more help from there.

thanks alot 95 slvr. I didnt throw out there that i am currently at tallil iraq until feb ish. This happened like right b4 i left the states during outprocessing, so i get to go back home in a few months and do some troubleshooting. and hopefully spend some hard earned dessert money on making it faster .
