I have a 97 ss with the stock ss wheels, a freind of mine has some stock 02 ss polished wheels, they are 17 by 9. does anyone know if they will bolt right on my car? thanks.

 

yes. all 93+ fbody wheels and c5 vette wheels are interchangable. I have c5 z06 wheels on my car. There might be others that work as well, but I know that the above are safe.

 

thanks. i called a couple tire shops and they said no the ofset is different.

 

the offset is different, butthats because you have 7.5" wheels and he has 9. the difference accomodates the wider wheel. but you have the same wheel well as ur buddy's 99. my car came with 7.5" wheels as well (since I dont have a ws6). the swap to 9" was straight foreward


tire shops tend to say that alot, mostly because they dont want to put any thinking into figuring if the car will accomodate the new offset. but the offset is just a measure of how far off center the hub attaches to the wheel. its measured +/- so too much (or too little, depending how u look at it) in a certain direction will stick the wheel into your suspension and it will hit other parts. you dont have anything to worry about though. it will get closer, but you will still have plenty of room. members here (um.... 95z?) put z06 wheels on too, which are the same dimensions as new SS wheels.

They'll fit fine, 17X9 was the stock size for the SS Camaro in '96 and '97 too. I have 17X9.5's all around and they fit with not issues.
