whats is the preformance defferince betwine the lt1 and the ls1? i have a ls1 in my z28

 

275hp vs 350hp, about .8sec on average in the quarter mile.

 

The LS1 has some advantages over the LT1: All Aluminum Block and Heads vs. the cast iron block and heads of the LT1.
Also the LS1 makes 35-40 more horsepower straight from the factory.
Both 350ci, both bad *** motors

 

ok thanks on my way to the dyno today (im using my laptop im now at the dyno) i ran into a lt1 z28 with practicly the same mods as me minus the 4.10 grears, nitrous, and ls6 cam. we did a lil race i didnt use my spray cuz of risk of deapfried pistons witch thanks to spec he informed me not to use spray until i get it tuned.

 

lt1's in camaros have aluminum heads...lt1's in caprices have iron heads...

 

its actually more like 70 more hp. stock ls1s dyno right around 300rwhp (350bhp) and th lt1 is in the 240rwhp range (275bhp). the ls1s in fbodies were rated at 305-320hp, but in reality they use the same motor and maps as the corvette

and the lt1 u ran couldnt possibly use an ls6 cam. he may have had the LT4 hotcam. but the ls1 has a different firing order from most SBC's, so if he had an ls series cam in there he would destroy all of his valves.

the ls1 is also technically a 346ci motor, and the lt1 is a true 350. major advantage of the lt1 is the reverse cooling system which cools heads first and is powered by a cam gear, as opposed to standard cooling in the ls1 off the accessory belt. major disadvantage, optispark for the lt1, which just sucks, and there is no real excuse for it, against the COP ignition in the ls1 which is the best ignition system money can buy IMO. never have to worry about wires.

thats just on my economy tune for winter so i can save fuel and $$$$ i have a highpreformance tune that has 405hp w/o spray and 496 with spray, on my way back home i put in the highprefoermance tune in (downloaded from my laptop)....holy crap that cars fast i feel bad for some old ladieslol i was stoped at a light there was like 3 old ladies about 70yrs old but behind me was a civic with a riceboy and 2 chicks (HOT!!) so the light turns green i had my rpms at like 4000 dump the clutch no spray yet i took off like batoutofhell the road was a lil wet it was snowing a lil bit this morning so i go up to 80 let of....the civic catches he looks at with a wierd look on his face so i was in 3rd hiting the throdle full then let off, i droped to 2nd WOT hitting my spray slamed 3rd got my assend a lil squerly then let the the civic floors it i get stoped by a damn stoplight[:@]i get on the freeway home alright and guess who i see....riceboy abou 1/2 mile ahead going uphill so i can see him i floor it i pass him at like 145mph theres hardly and car on the road i was at the top of 4th at like 6500rpm skreaming exhaust passing him i took it up to like 160 again i got off at my exit stop at a gasstation that damn civic comes back he gets out the 2 girls are still in the car staring at me lol he walk up to me and says "thats one badass comaro dude" i smile say thankyou get back in my car and just as i was leaving i stoped put it in 2nd revved up to 6000 and did a long snocks burnout lol one fun day i can tell you that lol.......im going to be ofline for a couple hours cuz i need to take my GF to her doc oppointment so uh cya
