what are your thoughts on..
a convertable f body?
here in like a few months or so, im ganasell my lt1 and get an ls1
i was thinking of a convertable but they look ugly with the rag top but dont look to bad when its down..
i wanted to know if anyone has ridden in one? and how the road noise is? and is it like somthing u have to get out and manualy put it up and down or is there a button that auto does it?
how much heavier are those models than a hard top and a t tops? i realy doubt ud notice a lack in performance sure its not that heavy..
also i might end up going for either a z28 or a ws6 im not sure but i want a 6 speed this time just cause i bet its beter for little freeway brawls lol ws6 are pretty sweet but im kinda of a sucker for a ls1 with the lipkit and the newer spoiler that they all have. but its gana be a hard decision
also if i dont get a camaro or a fire bird i was salso looking at somthing out side the box and that is a audi s4 anyone herd of them or been in one? they have like 250hp and are a tt v6 with all wheel drive and i know a ls1 and prolly a lt1 would whoop its *** in a stright line but if roads are wet or a little dusty or theres curves lol i bet the s4 would give a beating to an f body lol. there more for the circuit racing i think. but i dont know audi say "nice" f bodys say"bad ***"

convertiable will hurt your performance a ton with it down, i have a t-top 98 z28 and i love it because if i want the air coming in it takes all of a minute to take them off, then if im going to the dragstrip or whatnot i just put them back on and its all good.

Yeah I don't like verts with the top up either. When you go down the freeway fast, a bulge forms on top. You raise it up and downmanually. Body flexes a bit more on verts also. They look good with the top down.
Audi's are good cars in general. But the TT seems like a chick car, or a stuck up business type or a flamming flamboyant type. I have never seen a hard core car enthusiast in one. The 3.2 v6 you refer to weighs in at about 3400 lbs. Not a light car. but its your choice

I own a T-Tops and Convertible Camaro, I LOVE the convertible, MUCH more than the T-Tops -- they are a pain! Looks great top up or down! I have the vinyl, not the fabric top on my convertible (no bulge as described by another), and it goes up/down with a switch -- I would rather have had a sunroof vs t-tops in the other car, as you don't have to do as much with a sunroof -- i.e. you are much more likely to use it.
