Default What to look for.....

I heard someone make a statement that all LS1's burn oil, is this correct? What are some other common engine problems associated with them(are any years better than others, etc.) Also, how long do the LS1 engines usually last and what are your opinions on purchasing a 98-02 Camaro with over 80k? 90k? How long do the cars as a whole last? Transmission, rear differentials. I've heard about pinion leaks being a problem too. I'm considering purchasing a 98-02 Camaro(it will most likely be either a 98 or a 99(because of finances) and it will probably have high mileage(possibly over 80k). Reliablility is a big factor. Someone told me an LS1 with 80k is good to go for 40-60k more miles before any problems pop up...do you agree? Any help is really appreciated, experiences, etc!

It all depends on how it was treated. I don't thing anyone can give a blanket comment that says after 80k it has 40-60k more before problems. I have seen cars have problems at 20k and some get to 150k before any issues.
