Hi everyone,
I am recently interested in buying a camaro. While having one has always been one of my wishes, i have been seriously looking into them lately. I have found a 99 m6 that has 83000 miles with t-tops, header, custom true duel exhaust, a totally new 9" ford rear end (4.11) and a short throw shifter. I have some questions about it, first of all, why put a ford rear-end in it when you could just put 4.11 gears in it? We went and looked at it today and the guy said it ran a 12.7 in the quarter and a 4.3 0-60 with just the upgrades i have listed, would that be true? If i am just going to be driving this car to school and around town, would it be a little much for my needs? And finally, he is asking 12,900 which i thought was a little much. He said it would need new rear tires and the shocks would need replaced eventually. What would be a reasonable offer that i should give him?
Thanks for you help!

The Ford 9' rear was put in because the stock ones are pretty weak and the 9 inch is a VERY strong rear end. Yes, with the mods it has a 12.7 is very doable, in fact it should be faster than that, if it can hook up. These cars are pretty tame as a driver, even with lots of mods people still daily drive them, 25+ MPG on the highway should be no problem for this car. I think he is in the ballpark for price but I would like to see you get it for $11,500 or so. Use the fact that it needs tires and shocks as a barganing tool. Remember though that the 9' probably cost him around $2000 to put in so don't exspect him to happy about a low offer. Good luck and keep us updated. Also remember that there are always more cars out there, if this one is not meant to happen or anything seems fishy just move on and find another.

hey JD1969,
Thanks for you input! When we went there today he turned it on for me and my dad in his garage, and i hadnt ever heard anything that load before. Im not sure my dad is going to let me buy this one because of how loud it was, and because the seller said that it was being built to race until he bought a house. But it was an amazing car, i will pry try and find one that is a little bit more stock though.
Thanks,
Tanner Case
