Default Transmission sunshield

First off i would like to introduce myself as a new member and hope to stay here a long time now to the isse my Transmission sunshield snapped do to raceing around l(te40) i drove it about 800 miles back home in 2 gear about 70mph about 3krpms now its 100% done all i have is first the rebuild would cost 1,350 but i was looking into getting a monster race Transmission for 1,650 is it worth the extra i do like to step on it alot please share your thoughts and what do i think is the best?

Stock 71k miles

You snapped a sunshield? How did that get into the transmission?? lol

let me be the first to ask.. what on earth is a 'sunshield" ?
sun gear? a carrier? reaction drum? scatter shield?

probly the sun gear, i dont have alot of faith in monster products. heres a couple places to look. performabuilt is a site sponsor and have very good products. patc is not a sponsor but have good products as well with some great info.

makes more sense. i always thought of it as a drum rather than a 'shield'

I was scratching my head on this one too. All I could think of was sun gears in the planetary assemblies. Well if you toasted that you may not have a good core so lets hope they dont tear down your core before you purchase your new trans.

patc doesnt require a core on almost all theres. they almost had to use mine but found one after looking for a week.
