Default Tranny flush question

hello,
Really dumb question.

I have a 1999 z-28 LS1 automatic with 77,xxx miles.
I belive my tailshaft gasket is leaking. I was thinking of flushing the tranny while i have it up.
With 77k miles, is it still safe to flush the tranny and not cause any further tranny issues, Ie slipping, etc?
The tranny shifts just fine as it is btw.

Thanks

Personaly, I'd leave it alone. It works so leave it be. I know the desire to flush it though. I wanted to do the same to mine but don't want to risk it. Although, if yours has been flushed according to the manufactures directions, how ever many miles they recomend, it probably wouldn't hurt.
