Default tinny sound

My 02 LS1 has a slight tinny sound to it at idle. I noticed this a little bit under the hood before with my stock catback, ory, and LTs. Now I put on a magnaflow catback and I can notice it out the tail pipes, only at idle that is. Is this just the noise that LTs will cause or do I have some kind of obstruction in my exhaust. Just thought I should check this out. When I put on my catback, to fit the new pipe onto the ory I had to bend in the pipe a slight bit on the edges to get it to slip on, so I was worried that maybe that was causing this sound I am hearing.

Check your heat shielding -- some may be vibrating from your exhaust...

Its not that, it isnt hitting anything. Hard to describe the sound but its only at idle. You can only hear it if you are standing right behind the car, maybe im just being picky

Try to capture it and post the audio.

Check all your rubber exhaust mounts to ensure they are all intact and no metal on metal.

This tinny sound can be from many causes and is unfortunately inherent to the LS motors which sound much less impressive than their LT counterparts.

IF you run rectangular exhaust tips (yes tips) on your LS motor you CAN end up with drone and a really tinny sound.

The LS motor sounds the least impressive of it's Ford, Dodge and LT counterparts. IN order to get remotely decent sound from an LS engine, you need to source a popular exhaust company or look to one of a few tru dual exhaust companies. Heads and cam will make a slight difference, but you won't get a "muscle car sound' from your LS.

PM me if you have other questions.
