Rearend
I have been talking to a couple of my friends. They said there are a couple of weak parts that I have change. They said that the camaro's axles are weak and I might damage or even break when I hook up. I was wondering if this true.

RE: Rearend
unless your heavily modded, or neutral slaming it, no.

RE: Rearend
The stock 10 bolt rears are weak, but some last better than others. I have seen stock LS1's break them on drag radials, but then again I know of a car that 60 foots in the high 1.4's on a stock 10 bolt and it's still going. Most people just run the 10 bolt till it dies and then go with a 9 inch or 12 bolt.

RE: Rearend
9 inch baby, thats the only way to go. 12 bolts are overrated I've seen to many of them **** out. whereas the 10 bolts keep going. A 10 bolt is like a SB, you can beat the piss out of them and they still deliver.

RE: Rearend
They can't be that bad, I have'nt seen any blown apart, just needing bearings. Moser's making bolt in 9 inches for around $900+. I'd do that before a 12 bolt.

RE: Rearend
Well man they are that bad, it's the ring and pinion that go out on them. A $900 Moser will not work because of the electronics in these cars, most guy who buy a Moser end up spending about $2000. I do agree tho that I would put in a 9 inch over a 12 bolt.

RE: Rearend
I have 98 SS with a few mods making 372rwhp. Well maybe more than a few mods. But any way take it from me, I had to build my rearend 3 times before i put the 12 bolt in. The first time it tore up it was stock. The 10 bolt SUCKS. I dont know much about the 9 inch ford rearend but ive heard that they are almost unbrekable. But from my point of veiw on something i have the 12 bolt is holding up very well.,
