Yeah full bolt ons will do that.. I just dont understand why you think a mustang is faster in this case. the Camaro hits peak power faster, has more powerand is a tad bit lighter.

 

the difference is, when i owned the mustang i would get taken by about 3 lengths to 80 by ls1's. while spraying I would take by aobut 3 lengths. what further justification do you need? a PI mustang with boltons IS faster than a stock LT1... thats kinda why i think a mustang is faster in this case, i dunno seemed logical to me [>:]. i did say stock for stock the camaro had the edge, but their 1/4 times are pretty freaking similar. i also am pretty sure fbodies are heavier than mustangs. a GT coup is in the neighborhood of 3200lbs without driver.

yeah, when i had my stang, LT1's were a good race, and they couldnt beat me unless they too had LT's. then i would get walked. but if they had all the regular mods, intake, ypipe, catback, even RR's, i would take them out. however i ran against several bone stock ls1's and they would take my lunch money every time..... unless I sprayed my 100 shot, then the margin they had before I would have.

 

ls1 > lt1 but the lt1 still takes off the line faster and sounds better

 

we actually discussed this in another thread. the lt1 doesnt take off the line faster. thats more myth than anything else. also, any time ive been in a race and won, and the kid comes back with "yeah, well i got you off the line" the kid was usually mocked as a ricer. the usual retort is "you got me off the line but i STILL mowed you down? thats bad"

 

Well my 97 Mustang has had a PI Swap, 4:10 gears, long tubes, CAI, Throttle Body/Plenum, 3500 stall TQ Converter and several suspension mods. My mustang was an automatic so driver error can be thrown out. I would get walked all over by a stock LT1 so have several people I know who have similar mods. Mustangs have no high end power which is right around the point where a any camaro will walk all over them.

I have always been a fan of Mustangs, but without FI they arent anything compared to the LS1.

 

97 mustang GTs had 215 horses stock.. With intake/exhaust/pi TB/Plenum idont think youd be pushing 260 or higher like the 99+ GTs.

 

you have a full PI swap and LT's AND 4.10s and you are getting walked by stock lt1's? something isnt right. on the old stangs the PI swap actually made more power than the stock PI cars due to the fact you have different pistons that give higher compression. with all of that you should be able to hit a 13.5 especially with the launch mods like the suspension and TC, unless of course you yourself weigh like 800 lbs or something [&:]. but i doubt it because thered be no way ud be in a mustang

 

those mods would net him over 275 hp? a 60 horse gain?
