Look at the 8th digit on the vin # to tell what engine it has.
K= 3.8L series II engine (L36)
G= 5.7L V8 (LS1)
To tell if it is a true SS look at the RPO sticker on the door for the code WU8. That denotes an SS car.

Okay I just pulled up carfax...theres 0 entries on carfax for the car...from what the guy told me it was donated to them from some rich guy who owns an estate on the island.
Its a V6 too which is a bummer...but i still want it...Talked him down to 5800...im thinking about it overnight...gunna call em in the morning.

0 entries? It should have at least 2, when the car was bought and when it was sold to the dealer. There should also be entries any time it went into the dealer for service. CARFAX has been collecting data on vehicles since the late 90's and they have registration info for some states all the way back to the early 80's. Now the accident or major damage report should say 0 entries and if that is the report then that is great.
5800 is high for a v6 but not unheard of for a nice low mile car.

It was better than the 7k they were wanting...It's my first camaro too so im excited (Not counting the 00' I bought and had the head gasket blow just outside of the dealership parking lot)
Also this place isn't a dealership really its more of a repo/donation lot and the car was donated *shrug*
also here is the carfax page showing 0 records found https://secure.carfax.com/creditCard.cfx

I havent yet unfortunately honestly didn't think about it...she needs some paint on the rear bumper, the clear coat is starting to flake and the rubber trim on the doors looks like it has rust spots...i know its not rust...
all in all the body is in really good shape, she's just dirty and needs a bath and wax. If the lot doesn't clean her up I'm gunna take her and have her detailed this weekend.

Dont take her in for a detail, do it yourself. Doing it yourself allows you to get to know your car better. My Sarah sat for almost 8 months before I bought her, the gal I bought her from washed the outside and vacuumed her out but never cleaned the jambs or the engine. I spent hours getting to know Sarah by cheaning her really good. I even went as far as taking the seats out of the car and getting all the crap out from under them. That is just my $.02

Hmm, I understand what your getting at...but i wouldn't even begin to know how to remove this and that from the engine to clean it or even how to get the seats out heh...
I really should start learning car mechanics lol...i really like this car and want to give it some upgrades...its got an exhaust already...I wanna repaint it...and give it some stripes, among other things..

you dont remove anything from the engine to clean just wrap a plastic bag around the alt to keep water out and power wash the crap out of it and use some soapy water and get everything you can as for the seats there held in with 4 nuts 15mm i believe anyways just unbolt them and pull out (if there electric just unhook the connectors)
