Default port and polish?

I am going to have my heads ported and polished. I have done some work on other engines. But never an ls1. So im a little skettish of how to do it. If anyone here has pulled heads off an ls1 your input would be very helpful, thanks.

Most of the ported LS1 heads you see are done a CNC machine. All I reccomend is to gasket match the exaust ports and clean up the bowls a bit. Stay out of the intake side, they flow great already and it is pretty easy to kill your velocity.

im not going to port them myself i am takeing them to a performanc shop. what i am mainly concerned with is getting the heads back on the motor with out haveing to pull the engine. someone told me that they didnt think that i would be able to torque them right if i dont pull the engine.

Oh my mistake. You can get them on fine, don't worry about it.
