Default please Help me! idle 3200 rpm

I took the throttle body off my 98 camaro this weekend to clean and then attempt the bump stop adjustment, after i did it i bolted it all back together installed the TB and started the car my idle shot up to 2200 right away and then up to 2600 and it has yet to come back down! I unplugged the TPS and it runs at about 700 rpm, but it doesn't shift quite right, i then replaced the TPS with a new one only to find no change and it idles at about 3200 rpm! yeah its definitely not good! The guy at the auto parts store said maybe a new Mass air flow sensor will fix it $140 for a reman!
HELP PLEASE any clue as to what has caused this and i would love to hear it!

did the mass air flow sensor get bumped around at all? i had a toyota supra once and guy before me tryed cleaning it and messed it all up because it uses electricity that jumps between two prongs to tell how much air is going thur or something and if it gets messed up it will make the computer think its geting more or less fuel making it idle funny correct me if im wrong but thats what i was told
