Default Mod questions

I have some questions about what size and brand cam i should buy i've seen cams on line for around 100 dollars and i know you get what you pay for thats why im asking. First i have no idea what lobe and duration im looking for, im wanting something that will give me a good strong range of power and will have that sweet loping sound with out being a b*tch to keep at idle. Any input will be appreciated thanks REDHOTSS

What are you other mods? A cam should not be your first mod. As far as idle goes you will need a tune with any cam you swap in other wise it will throw a code and not idle very well at all. I need to know all you mods as well as your rear gears and trns type before I can make any sort of reccomendtion.

As of right now the car is completely stock, other than the ported Maf and Air lid. I plan to put 3.73 gears in the rear, with long tubes and new exhaust. Plan on buying either 3200 or 3800 stall and a few other mods.

I meant to say that a cam should NOT be your first mod. Do the gears, long tubes and stall first and then get the cam. For a stall I would not go any lower than 3800, but make sure you gat a good one from a company like Yank or Precision Industries.
