ls1 or not?

Default ls1 or not?

i looking to by a 1998 camaro but wanted to know how i can make sure the motor is an ls1 and not another motor? Are their any dead giveaways to look for?

All 98-02 Z/28 and SS's were LS1's. It's pretty easy to tell apart from other engines. The dead give away is the black plastic intake manifold and of course the fact that the engine is all aluminium. I deleted your other thread because it was basicly the question. Good luck on your search.

uh id say the intake manifold is a dead give away the ls1 has a spiral intake manifold whereas the 3.8 v6 (nor any other engine that would be in a caaro) would have the the first pic is the LS1 2nd is 3.8 V6
