ls1 and lt1 differences

Default ls1 and lt1 differences

were there any major differences betwwen these 2, in terms of hp and such. is one better for suppercharging that the other?

Entirely different engines except for being V8s. The LS1 makes more power stock, but when you modify engines anything goes, and so does power.

ive heard the lt1s had some more torque, and not as much hp... is this true? i usually jump lsi's, but they pull me once we get going

Thats not really true, the rumor started when the LS1 first came out. The LT1 does not make any more torque than the LS1, the LS1 just makes its peak torque a few hundred RPM higher.

Which means that when two engines make the same torque, the one that peaks out at a higher RPM, will consequentially develop more horsepower. So a stock LS1 should make more power than a stock LT1.
