Hi there. Could someone help me understand what different cams do? I hear engines on youtube with big cams in them and they have a lope to the idle. How are they installed? How much money and what does it do. I just would like to learn a little bit. Im thinking about possibly doing a few mods to my 98' LS1 and just need some info. thanks!

 

Definitely start with some bolt on mods before doing H/C/I work, boltons pay off even more when you look to cam it later.

The actual cam itself is relatively cheap, usually only a couple hundred bucks, but its the supporting mods that end up bumping up the total cost.
