Default LS1 or 350

I just bought an 02 Camaro V6, Im not sure if I want to throw in an LS1 or just a GEN 1 350. Either way I go they will have the same amount of power. Im just not sure which one I want to go with...If I use an LS1 I will have to put up with all the electronic B.S. but if I use a GEN 1 350 I wont have to worry about all that, any suggestions?

everyone is going to tell you to start off with a v8 car, the amount of time and money you will have into it, you could of bought a z28. everything needs to be changed.

i'll never for the life of me figure out why so many people buy a V6 car wanting to dro pin a V8 be cause they think they cant afford a V8 car... when the modifications out into the V6 car + the car to make it a V8 will be so much more expensive.

if you wanted to do a carb 350, you will need as special intake kit the carb sets dead center under the cowl., i have a 99 camaro that doesnt have an engine or trans and i have thought the same thing but im not sure now what to do myself

Not true, you can use a low profile intake and trim the cowl area and fit a carbed engine in there.

Its not the engine that is the problem and you and seegeer are in two different boats. The V6 rear end and trany are week and would have to be upgraded before any big swap. Seegeer has to replace his transmission already so this is not a problem for him. He also has the advantage of already owning a V8 platform and all the little extras that go with the higher modle.

IN short start with the a LS1 or LT1 car by the time you get done you will have wished you had.

On a side note JD are you still runing your stock A4

I would sale the v6 and get a v8. I would go with a 95 or older so you dont have to mess with all the emissions if your laws are like they are in NC. Then drop a 383 in it.

Holy 1/2 year old thread batman!

Hasn't this question been answered way too many times as it is?

bigpunisher: Emissions are dependant on the county you live in, so his emissions requirements may not be the same as yours. My car is a 95 and I still have to get it tested every 2 years.
