Default Loud Mouth Exhaust

I just got my second Camaro, it is a 2000 Z and I know this is a dumb question... But I am not that impressed by the sound, would a loud mouth type exhaust just make my car louder or will it add any horsepower? One last thing if I do go with the loudmouth will I have any problems if I decide to do headers in the future? Waiting for the pros to chime in here...

catbacks generally do not do much for power. ~5hp maybe. mostly for sound. they will also not affect any future modding you plan to do. if u want to read up on boltons go to the 4th gen section (back 2 sections from where we are now, were in 4th gen >v8>ls1) and there is a "basica mods" thread in the stickies. remember, loudmouths are LOUD. they werent foolin. so make sure you want that much noise.

I agree they are loud but sound good. I would say try to find someone with loudmouth and ride in it. Some people it doesn't bother (like me) others hate how loud it is. But as for headers y pipe etc. It won't matter cat back is cat back. If you go long tube headers you will need the diff y pipe (eitherwaywith loudmouthornot) But ifyou go with shorty headers you can even keep the stock y pipe (i would gowith long tube headers and off road y pipe) that sounds the best of all. But its a total preference to if you like loud or not.

I agree on the loudmouths being very loudmouth. Be careful because you may run into a problem with law. Sometimes cops are a-hole will write you up for your exhaust being too loud

The only thing is if you put headers and then do an xpipe , the LM becomes useless. I love loud, it can never be to loud for me. I have headers w/xpipe dumped, and a TRAK cam, its loud but not enough

I had the LM on my old LT1 and it was great. Get it unless you are sure you are going with an xpipe set up sometime soon.

I think there is a differance between loud and good sounding. IMO
