Default Long tube headers

Im gonna be putting some long tube hooker headers on my 00 camaro SS. Its a stock ls1 has a slp lid and smooth bellow 373 gears and a diablo flash tuner. What all needs to be done besides the off road y pipe???? Thank you.

im sure you will need new header gaskets (might come with headers)

if you are removing the CATs you will need to tune out rear O2 sensors (hopefully the diablo can do that??)

you may need front O2 sensor extensions, im gonna be doing mine too so would like to know this?? As im in UK and dont want to fit them and realise i need extensions afterwards

Alright, yeah i think everything came in the box, it had extensions for o2 sensors and gaskets. But they're the cardboard gaskets lol, just gonna buy some good ones being those headers are such a ***** to install only wanna do the job once!!!! Got a smoking deal on the headers too dang still cant believe it, brand new in the box wrapped up hooker super comp ceramic long tubes. Stole em for $200.00 lol. Hopefully they'll be outta the box this weekend flowing in the SS.

I was thinking something like these...

My buddy is supposed to get me a y pipe so we could install the headers this weekend, just looking under the hood i know its gonna be such a *****, gonna have to do some research to figure the easiest way to install them. Dont look like fun but well worth it. Only wanna do that job once so im taking the safe rout through even if its cost a lil more. What kinda power gain do you think i could expect with long tubes and y w/o cats???

im thinking at least 25-30 hp without cats, plus ill be doing LS1 to LS6 intake manifold and EGR delete so thats another dyno prove 15-20 hp.

those look quality gaskets, im tempted ???

i think the headers are a ***** but take your time and make sure the car is up at the front at least a foot and put headers in from under the car

Oh yeah for sure, it'll be up on the lift, so that'll be better than lying on my back lol. Yeah that same buddy of mine thats helping me out has a ls6 intake and throttle body he's gonna sell me for $200 but since me and my wife are expecting a baby, gotta put the SS on hold for upgrades. Im sure i'll still be able to swing it soon, just not as fast as i would like. Car should do a pretty decent 1/4 mile time, we'll find out probably next month. Looks like rain rain rain here in south texas, closest track is two hours away and with the rain the next available day will be next month. That sux was really looking forward to beating up a buddy of mine in his mustang.

Hell these header gaskets look nice too.

And they're a little cheaper than GM performance also. Idk still rather go with a actual GM product.

it turns out I can get some GM ones in UK for about £15 so $25 a set

think ill leave it for now and use the card ones, then it means I WILL have to get new heads when the gaskets go, I think its a good excuse for H/C swap then hahah

Lol, yup sounds good to me!!!!! Except i cant get that deep in my ls1 just yet. Still have 4 yrs extended warranty bumper to bumper... So yeah i can wait!!! Lol. I like the $100 detuctable. Car is quick enough for now. Cant put too much muscle in there with that rear end. Heard that 7.5 is only good to hold 400-450 ponies. What you think???
