Default Headers/Y pipe hangs to low

I just bought a 01 SS. It has SLP headers and Y pipe and they both hang to low. The car is at factory hight and going over some speed bumps it hits. Besides that im wanting to lower the car but cant because of the exhaust. My question is ....are there people that have this setup, is there a way around it or do I have to buy new exhaust??? I'll get some pictures tomorrow to give you some idea of what I'm talking about. I'm sure there are headers that tuck up closer to the floor boards.

I went out and snapped some pictures of the exhaust. From looking at it I have figured it out on my own. It looks like who ever welded the Y pipe to the headers didnt do a very good job at making sure the pipes were tucked up closer to the body. I started from the passenger side then over to the driver side, the last pic is the ugly exhaust tips.

I'm open to any ideas. Do most every manufacture headers hang that low?? I havent had a car with headers since my old 70 firebird,I can't remember that fare back. I'm thinking that I'll have to have the Y pipe cut off and either rewelded or replaced??

looks like 3inch pipes ,i have a simular issue with my true duals ,doing exhuast is an art ,an mine was done by a novice ,where the headers come out there needs to be a bend that goes right up to touching the body ,so with mine ,we need to start all over from the headers on back ,an going with very small cherry bombs 12x3.5 ,on these cars the exhuast needs to be as close to body at every point ,an that is something i kept asking him while instaling it why you not as close to the body like the stock ones were for me what helps is air shocks with no plan to lower the car looks like you need an exhaust artist,an those 275 tires help too wich is another thing i am doing gives about a half inch more in the rear an keeping the 255 in front, looks like you got some bends that are not in the right place couse in some places there touching the body an in others there not ,kinda looks like it was not ran right ,they are ? long tubes picture 3 looks like could be the problem area

Do you know what headers it has? Some of them do hang low. I can take a pic of mine when I get to the garage today

Low exhaust is part of the deal - headers are intended to hang low.

the kooks headers and y pipe are the best for ground clearance.

Cheeks, These are SLP headers and Y pipe

craby,Those headers/exhaust look really nice and tucked under there. Do you have a picture of them from the side ??

Everett#2390, Yeah I understand they can hang low but...this low?

95 camaro 406, I'm with you there,it doesnt look that great.

Once I get some time im going to make a list of the things I need to address. So fare exhaust is first on the list, then lower about 2" should be a good start.
Thanks guys
