Default front grill

hey i just bought a new polished aluminum front grill for my 01 z28 and im havin some trouble getting the stock black one off. I'm pretty sure its held on by clips i can get the outer clips off but the inner ones dont seem to budge. i dont wanna break it in case i ever need it. am i missing something or are they just supposed to pop off?

the only way to do it without braking it is to take the whole front bumper off and do it from the inside otherwise ur going to end up braking it by just pulling it right off but thats what i did cus its quicker and i know i wont be using the sock black one

I am pretty sure the best way to do this is to go underneath the car and get to the grill from the back of it and see where the clips may be that are holding it in.

That sucks. I want to take it off, but I don't want to ruin it, just in case I need it. It has the license plate holder, and I never know when I might need it. But as for now I think it's hideous, and want to get rid of it. I guess I will be trying to take the bumper off this weekend. Booo.
