Default Exhaust sound help

Hey guys, I have flowmaster catback and I want a deeper, meaner sound without paying an arm and a leg for whole nother exhaust setup. What the best thing I can do for better sound? I was told to just change out the muffler, its really cheap and can make a world of difference. I was also told to go with a Magnaflow performance muffler because of their WIDE OPEN technology, any ideas guys?

I've also heard good things about Magnaflow cat-backs and mufflers, especially compared to Flowmasters.
Good luck.

Ok I just got done today getting dual exhaust with an H pipe and inline magnaflow mufflers put on my car. It sounds mean as *****, I have long tube headers as well. I do not know if you do or not but it shouldn't make that much difference. At idle it sounds no louder than stock. As soon as you rev it or reach 3000 rpm it is pure sex. I hope this helps you and it will get deeper and louder once my pipes get coated with carbon...can't wait.

Well if you want the cheapest route then change to a Magnaflow muffler only. The Cat-back that they make though, is fantastic much better then Flowcrapster. I don't know about just the muffler though. You could try a bullet style muffler from Dynomax, has the best flow. Tell the shop to let you try out both using the bullet first to see how it sounds. As long as they know you are going to buy something they will probably do it.

Check on LS1sounds.com, someone should have a clip of a bullet only car and one of the Magnaflow.
