Default Exhaust Opinion

Well I currently have SLP headers with high flow cats, SLP Y-pipe, and Borla wide open muffler with no plate in. I like it but I want to be louder. So I am contemplating either cutouts or cutting it off all together after the cats (cops are tough on that in my area). Any opinions or thoughts?

Wow, I'm surprised you want it to be louder than what you have, but if you really do I'd suggest cutouts. That way if you every want it to be "quiet" again you can just close the cutouts and be on your way. Chopping a Borla Catback just seems sad

Well the muffler is in great shape but the previous owner did most the exhaust and cheaped out on the Y and got a non-stainless, so its all rusty and has a few holes. So I am going to have to buy a new mid but I was just going to cut it all off and save some bucks if I could, but I will definatly consider the cut outs now. Thanks for the feedback.

What brand cutouts do you all recommend to work w/a Kooks headers/Y install with the rest an SLP dual/dual?

TIA!

Glad to see the you chose Kooks, you don't be dissappointed

As far as your cutout, if you're going with an electric cutout the most common are QTP, if you want a manual "unskrew the wingnuts" cutout go with something stainless and cheap, its only a minature Y, so "low" quality is pretty hard to come by.

This is easy , make a custom Xpipe!

After the cats get some 3" stainless pipes, run them from each cat, put a bullet muffler with turndowns before the differential.

Now you have cats, mufflers, (although the bullets are pretty much straight flow through) and a true dual system which is the loudest next to open headers.

First off, I would just like to comment on your rims, I love the black with no rivets like yours, nice choice. Secondly I would recomend a cheap cutout these can be picked up for around 30 dollars from summit, It is essential that you get a weld on too. I made the mistake of bolting mine on, One night I hit a possum and she came right undone.
