Default Engine Issue

Ok. So something is again going wrong with my car.

I was driving to get lunch and she started chugging and lurching again. Then the engine died. It turned over and started, with a little gas pedal, but wouldn't idle.

She will idle now, but it is really rough and there is a clicking coming from one of the valves. A lot of exhaust noise and smell.

I haven't really gotten on the car recently. I don't recall scrapping the exhaust on anything.

Any ideas?

Clicking from the valve area could be a valve train problem, or just an exhaust leak, being that you mentioned exhaust noise and smell. Pull the valve cover and see what is going on under there.

might've had a rocker come loose, grab an 10mm and 8mm socket, take teh coils and valve cover off and have a look see

Would a loose rocker cause those issues?

Turns out that the years of hard owners and abuse have caught up.

The car broke 2 valve springs.

I am getting new ls6 valve springs, valves, milling the heads, and fresh fluids.

Hopefully the car will run a lot better.
