RE: clutch change help
I could really use some help on this, the Haynes book says to remove the bellhousing bolts then lower and remove, unless there is more than 8 bolts,I unhooked the tourqe arm,the exaust and the trans crossmember and its still solid, any imput on somthing I might have missed would be greatly appretiated

RE: clutch change help
The dowl pins are seized, same thing happened to my car. I had to jam couple screw driver in between the bell and the engine and do a good bit of prying, try to get some penatrating oil worked in there a few hours before you go at it. Now when you put it back together make to put some Never Seize on the dowls just in case you ever do this again. Oh yea there are only 8 bolts.

RE: clutch change help
thats exactly what was wrong, the dowl pins had corrosion on them,I didnt see your reply till today, ended up unbolting the bell housing from the tranny, then bumped it with a deadblow a few times and it came off,the center of the clutch disk was broken,it would spin, after so much load was put on it and it didnt take alot,it wouldnt pull itself up on the car ramps, thats what happens when you loan it to someone that thinks you have to race everyone that pulls up beside you,yes its fun, until you have to crawl under it,just got finished for today, changed the disk ,pressure plate and slave cylinder, almost got it back together driveshaft, tourqe arm and fill it up with fluid and its rollin, thanks for replyn,I didnt mean to post in wrong place............p.s. I put grease on the dowl pins
