Default Camaro sound system question?

Hi, I just bought a 1998 Z28 Camaro. It came witha factory 10 dis cd changer and tape radio. I was wondering if this has some sort of upgrade sound stystem (factory installed like monsoon). If anyone knows anything about this set up, please let me know. Thanks, Nick

i think that it just came with speakers in the back, best thing you can do for any pre 05 car is replace speakers with aftermarket speakers and aftermarket hu, i say pre 05 because around 05 is when most manufactures started putting decent if not great sound systems in cars stock

Thanks, I am no soud expert but I though it didn't sound too bad. I was hoping to stay away from a full swap but oh well.

One just says Delco (base) the other says Monsoon (upgrade)... You can add a USA-Spec device to connect to the CD Changer port to add iPod/iPhone audio control plus AUX inputs:

Hey, thanks, that's really cool. Their website doesn't have any price, do you know about what'll cost me?

if you look behind where the spare tire is on your rear pass fender there will be a stock amp if you have the monsoon system, also the monsoon system has 6 speakers. front doors, middle side panels, and rear side panels.

Thanks for the link and I haven't check the amp but I do have six factory speakers like you said. I guess I'll have to go look.

I'd get it from Crutchfield instead of eBay to be sure you're getting the latest revision, unless you know for sure it is the current revision from another seller. Crutchfield is overpriced, however.

I have one in my '01 & '02 -- works pretty well, and I haven't seen any better iPhone integration for the factory radio.
