Default Cai?

How are the K&N cold air intakes for the Z28's? Also I have a corsa catback and was looking to get an off road Y pipe? suggestions? tips? Thanks

Just get a lid. A CAI is really a waste on the LS1 as they breath plenty well already. A lid runs about $100 and is all you really need. Only get an ORY if you are getting headers at the same. The only aftermarket ORY that bolts up to stock manis is an SLP one, and it would be a waste of money

Thanks for the info I am going to go with the lid thats not the first time ive heard that. im pretty content FOR NOW with the performance. Is there anyway I can get my car to sound louder a more throaty sound. I just have the corsa catback right now everything else is stock. I appreciate any advice you have

Good call on the lid that is what I did. the only way to get a different sound is to change exhaust components, you can look to swap out your mid pipe, but you might as well go all the way and hook up headers. other than that you can look to replace your corsa catback with something else.

I have always loved the sound of a Flowmaster ehaust system. If you installed headers and dual the exhaust with twin two-chamber Flowmasters you can't go wrong. I would also increase the diameter of your exhaust pipe. Your MPG will increase and you will get a boost in HP. The exact figures depend on your driving style and the cars components. It may cost a bit, but in the long run it will pay off. There are several other exhaust systems you could try, this is just my favorite....

Flowmaster catbacks on these cars are terrible, the crossflow 80 series makes no power. The Corsa is farily quiet on LS1's, you could sell it for a good bit of change and buy something else. Adding longtubes will really wake the car up on the top end as well as make it much louder; add in a tune and power will increase dramatically in the low range. Stock exhaust is 3 in diameter, plenty for a stock cube LS1 and then some. The only dual exhausts available are the Kooks (very expensive) and the TSP (dumped bullets). A shop can fab up a custom one, but quality in the bends and piping usually lacks or will cost you a seriouc penny.

i think i may go with the headers n y pipe, What would you guys recommed for the combo and what kind of $$$$ are we talking...I was thinking BBK shorty headers?

Shorty's are a waste as are midlengths; longtubes or go home. What's your budget? There are setups out there for as little as a couple hundred dollars or a couple thousand. BBK makes a 1 3/4" longtube header that comes with an ORY, ceramic coated for $475. Also you need to find about emissions, some states are more strict than others and will require things such as cats, AIR systen, etc.

Probably just as much. Do the install yourself, it is not difficult; just a little time consuming is all.
