Default any one have a tune done by tunedbyfrost.com

right now my 98 z28 is put up and i am getting all of the issues worked out with it to get it ready for the spring. i was looking around and found the website- tunedbyfrost.com. i have a stock z and i plan on keeping it stock, but i wouldn't mind getting a stock tune and i was reading that they do the rear o2, EGR and AIR delete. i was curious if i get this done, is there anything i would need to do block off these parts on the motor, or just leave them? i do plan on getting this done because its 150.00 plus shipping, and the rear o2 delete itself would pay for the tune since i wouldnt have to buy new rear sensors which are about 70 apiece. what do you think of all this?

First Do you have emissions in your area? If so dont get the tune done. Second other than the cost of the o2 sensors why are you deleting these systems? The downstream o2s help you determine the condition of the cats, the air system is run electrically and assists the cats in doing their thing, and the EGR helps lower combustion temps to improve mileage and performance. None of these things rob horsepower, they are all there to help you run better.

THe air system you would have to remove the hoses and plug the ports in the manifolds. the EGR system needs the intake plugged or replaced and the exhaust manifold plugged. and with the o2 sensors you would just leave the old ones in or have a shop weld the holes shut. All and all I think that is gonna cost more money than leaving everything alone.

i think if your not going to do any mods or major mods there's no sense in doing the tune to delete anything. all in all i agree with massey.^^^^

Your best bet for a tune is in conjunction with a dyno...

That Frost is good, he's done a lot of tunes for people on LS1 Tech. These guys here wouldn't know about him. Go to LS1 Tech and ask there.
