Default a4 racing question

i have an 02 z28 a4!!!! should have got the s but i have the a4. anyway would there be a diffrence from the light if i was to hold on the brake with my revs at about 3000 and let it go at the light, or just to punch it when the light comes. i raced another auto z yesterday holding the brake and i put about 1 and 1/2 lenths on him??? but then i played around with it and i couldent really feel a diffrence? does it really matter?

it depends on how much you spin your tires. whichever way keeps the spinning to a minimum thats the way to go. sick

yes it makes a difference, when you press on the brake and hit the gas slightly you are putting pre-load on your drivetrain, that helps us auto guy's get out of the hole a lot quicker than the stick fellas, that is one reason to buy a higher stall torque converter, and is why i prefer auto in drag racing, im sure JD, or PETE will explain better.
