4.10 Ring & Pinion Install
ok guys tell me whats right and whats wrong
I got my 4.10 gears in the other day, and plan on putting them in the car very soon...
i can use the sleeve as long as it isnt damaged again...
i dont really need new gaskets, rear end pressure is low on them...
i can reuse all bearings...
i only need carrier bearing depresser no the pinions...
i will need a shim kit...
other question, what fluid should i use? where can i get the carrier bearing depresser?

Well, ah, Last week I didn't listen very well, but seem to have gotten lucky.
I took out the old gears, put in the new gears. I used some lock tite, silicone, gear oil and a crush sleeve. I simply bolted everything back together. You have read my other thread so you now how that went.
I really dont think you need to to reshim everything if you only change the gears, but I promise no one will agree. It seems that I just got lucky.
